- Coverage is the report’s “codable” crashes reported by law enforcement; it is not a count of every road incident. See the report’s inclusion criteria on page 1.
- Crashes count events; fatalities and injuries count people. A single crash can injure or kill more than one person. Statewide injuries sum incapacitating and other injuries on page 8.
- Counts are not adjusted for population, traffic volume, or miles traveled. They do not establish a county’s relative risk.
- The 2022 county crash counts add to 397,616, while the statewide summary reports 397,620. Both published figures are preserved. All displayed 2023 and 2024 county totals reconcile with the statewide summary.
